What is EvolutionaryScale?

EvolutionaryScale develops AI models for biology, led by ESM3, a language model that reasons over protein sequence, structure and function at the same time. The organization is now part of Biohub.

How EvolutionaryScale works

Researchers prompt ESM3 with any mix of sequence, structure and function information and the model completes the protein. The largest ESM3 has 98 billion parameters trained on 2.78 billion natural proteins and 771 billion unique tokens. As a demonstration, it designed esmGFP, a fluorescent protein far from natural ones.

Who uses EvolutionaryScale?

The models are used by protein scientists and drug discovery researchers working on enzymes, medicines and materials such as carbon-capture and plastic-degrading proteins.

EvolutionaryScale pricing

The ESM3-open model is free under the MIT license. Larger models are served through an API and the Biohub Platform, and the vendor does not list prices on its homepage.
