Keynote

What is Keynote?

Keynote is a presentation application from Apple for building and delivering slide decks on Mac, iPad and iPhone. It also runs in a web browser through iCloud, which lets people create, edit and collaborate on shared presentations from Mac or Windows computers.

Key features of Keynote

• Themes and slide layouts for building presentations quickly.
• Customization of slide content and presentation aspect ratios.
• Presenter controls in a separate window for use during video calls.
• Real-time collaboration on shared presentations through iCloud.
• Apple device apps for Mac, iPad and iPhone plus a browser version.
• Export and sharing options for sending decks to other people.

Who uses Keynote?

Keynote is used by individuals, students, teachers and business teams, especially those already using Apple devices. It suits anyone who wants to create presentations and share them with collaborators, including those on Windows through the browser.

Keynote pricing

Apple has historically included Keynote free with Mac, iPad and iPhone, and Apple's support pages also mention it as part of Apple Creator Studio. Current terms can change, so check Apple's website for the latest availability and any subscription pricing.

Keynote alternatives

Common alternatives to Keynote include Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides and Canva. Teams that mix Apple and non-Apple devices often compare Keynote with browser-first or cross-platform presentation tools.
