Figma is the browser-based design platform that became the industry standard for UI and product design. Because it runs in the browser and is multiplayer by default, whole teams — designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders — can work in the same file at once, which is what pulled design work out of single-user desktop apps.
Beyond core interface design, Figma spans the product-development workflow: prototyping for clickable flows, design systems with shared components and libraries, FigJam for whiteboarding and brainstorming, and Dev Mode to hand off specs, measurements, and code snippets to developers. Newer AI features and a "Collab" seat type have widened who works in files without paying for a full editor seat.
