Spellbook

What is Spellbook?

Spellbook is an AI-powered platform that helps legal teams and law firms review, draft and manage commercial contracts, working directly inside Microsoft Word. The vendor says 5,000+ legal teams use it.

Key capabilities of Spellbook

• Review and redline: Surgical redlines with tracked suggestions.
• Drafting: Create clauses, agreements and revisions from AI or template libraries.
• Playbooks: Encode legal standards into automated checklists.
• Compare: Benchmark contracts against market norms.
• Ask: Quick answers to contract questions.

How Spellbook works

Lawyers open a contract in Word and Spellbook proposes tracked redlines, drafts clauses and answers questions. Playbooks apply a team's standards to each review, and Compare benchmarks terms against market norms. The vendor says it has a zero data retention policy with its LLM providers.

Who uses Spellbook?

In-house legal teams and law firms use Spellbook. The vendor lists Dropbox, Atkins Realis, ASICS and Kennedys among customers.

Spellbook pricing

The vendor page does not list prices, so Spellbook is quote-based.
