What is Class Companion?

Class Companion is an AI feedback and tutoring tool for classroom writing. It gives students immediate, standards-aligned feedback on their responses and pairs it with an AI tutor, so teachers spend less time grading.

Key capabilities of Class Companion

• Instant AI feedback: Rubric-aligned comments on student writing
• Ditto AI tutor: A tutor that coaches students through revisions
• Assignment and question creation: Teachers set up writing prompts
• Rubric generation: Builds rubrics for assignments
• Retry: Students revise and resubmit after feedback
• Pasted-text visibility: Free plan shows teachers text students pasted into responses
• Response integrity detection: Paid plans flag typing anomalies, tab switching and similarity to other students

How Class Companion works

A teacher creates an assignment and rubric, students write responses in the platform, and the AI returns feedback aligned to the rubric and standards. Students can retry and talk with the Ditto tutor. On school and district plans, integrity signals such as typing anomalies, copy and leave tab, and similarity to other responses are added, along with LMS integration and insights.
